After doctoral studies

Placement after obtaining the PhD degree

With a PhD degree from the School on Safety and Security Sciences, graduates can find employment in a wide range of fields, both nationally and internationally. Almost 40% of doctoral graduates stay in academic field. They either become university lecturers or researchers in higher education institutions and research institutes, or consolidate their existing active position in this field.  Others use their knowledge in the competitive sector, for example in research and development (R&D), engineering innovation or the defense industry. There are also opportunities in the public sector, for example as a policy analyst, government researcher or in international organisations. A PhD opens up a wide range of opportunities for continuous development and professional fulfilment.
