Our keynote speaker at the CTD2022 Conference is Professor Toyin Falola, University Distinguished Teaching Professor Jacob and Frances Sanger Mossiker Chair in the Humanities, University of Texas at Austin, USA. It is definitely hard to briefly introduce Prof. Falola who holds more than a dozen academic degrees (Doctor of Letters, Honorary Professor), has authored 100+ tomes of books to his name. Prof. Falola is a defining voice globally in African Studies and African History, Cultural Studies, Area Studies, African Social Science, African Traditional and Contemporary Art, and African Politics, International Relations, Political Economy, and Security.

Prof Falola has been a global pioneer in terms of modern African history and decolonization in historiography, and has continued to reach new heights since then. Also via his students, his intellectual imprint is everywhere in African Studies.

Humanitarian Response Manager special training at Óbuda University Bánki Donát Faculty of Mechanical and Safety Engineering!

The aim of the training is to provide interdependent, up-to-date professional and marketable knowledge, and practical skills to professionals working in jobs related to the ever-expanding field of humanitarian operations / response.

Who is the training for?

We recommend the training to all graduates who want to work in the humanitarian field and who – in addition to a wide range of theoretical knowledge – want to enrich their knowledge by the expertise of experienced civilian and uniformed professionals of international humanitarian operations, before they begin their work in practise. We also recommend the training for professionals who are already working in the field of humanitarian response but have not yet been involved in fieldwork, whether they want to take part in humanitarian action on behalf of governmental or international (civilian or uniformed) or non-governmental organisations. In addition, of course, we welcome all those as well who are keen to broaden their knowledge in this field based on their personal interests.

The majority of the students who had previously successfully completed the reuirements recieved their certificates on 15 July 2022 on the campus of the Óbuda University. The Africa Research Institute participated in the program with five researchers running a major part in the curriculum, “in return” several students chose African topics for their theses.
