International conference: „Counter-Terrorism, Technology and Development in Africa” (CTD2022)

The Africa Research Institute of the Doctoral School on Safety and Security Sciences at Óbuda University and the Centre for Military Studies at the University of Stellenbosch have just launched their annual hybrid scientific conference to be held on 22 October 2022 (Counter-Terrorism, Technology and Development in Africa, CTD2022). In the four sections of the symposium, the speakers touch upon current issues in the fields of human security, socioeconomics, technological development and cybersecurity, and leadership and corporate governance. Submitted papers will be included, among others, in the next issues of the quarterly scientific journal of the Journal of Central and Eastern European African Studies, which is listed by the African Research Institute.

The annual event is part of the fruitful cooperation between the Bánki Donát Faculty of Mechanical and Safety Engineering (Óbuda University) and the Centre for Military Studies (University of Stellenbosch) that was signed between the parties in 2021.

Proposals for papers are hereby invited from interested researchers, scholars, practitioners and policy-makers in the defence and security fields for the upcoming conference. The deadline for abstracts and bio: 20 July 2022.

Africa Expo Part 3 – The four-day-long Expo just finished.

In the name of our Institution, we would like to thank all who attended this four-day-long Expo and special thanks also go to all who were highly interested in our Humanitarian Response Manager course. Special appreciation is devoted to Hungary Helps – Magyarország segít, and our strategic partner Földkelte Egyesület – Planetrise Association, to join and let this event become so fruitful.

Africa Expo Part 1

The Africa Research Institute of the Doctoral School of Safety and Security Sciences of the University of Óbuda, together with the Földkelte Foundation, takes part in the Africa Expo hold on March 3-6, 2022.

On March 4, the head of the Research Institute, Dr. habil. János Besenyő, took part in a panel discussion on “European Union and United Nations Assistance to Africa”. After that he provided information to those interested in the Humanitarian Operations Manager training at Óbuda University Bánki Faculty. The stand of the Research Institute was visited by Béla Szilágyi, the president of the Baptist Charity Service, who also participates in the training as an instructor. The members of the research institute are waiting for those interested throughout the weekend.
